There are various scenarios that can trigger a flashing Airbag light. These scenarios range from unplugging the seats and installing alarms all the way to messing with steering wheel and audio controls. The procedure below is directly from the Nissan Service Manual. If this procedure DOES NOT work, you might want to take it to a mechanic or Nissan Dealer to check it out (as it may be faulty and needs repair).

Timing is key to get this right!

  1. Turn ignition switch from OFF to ON.
  2. Air Bag warning lamp will be on for 7 seconds and then turns off,
  3. Turn the ignition switch OFF within 1 second after the lamp turn off.
  4. After ignition switch is turned OFF, wait for more than 3 seconds.
  5. Repeat steps 1 to 3 two more times. (Perform 3 times in total.)
  6. Turn Ignition switch ON.
  7. The SRS lamp has been reset it.
