my4dsc.com attended the New York City Auto Show today to see the unveiling of the all new 2019 Nissan Altima. It looks amazing! The Altima will go on sale in the United States this fall, and it’ll be available in S, SR, SV, SL, and Platinum trims. Pricing details will come closer to launch.
Below is all the key information you need to know:
The 2019 Nissan Altima is available with two 4-Cylinder engine setups (NO MORE 3.5 V6!!)
2.5-liter four-cylinder that produces 188 hp and 180 lb-ft
2.0-liter Variable-compression (VC) turbocharged four-cylinder that produces 248 hp and 273 lb-ft.
Regardless of engine choice, the Altima comes with an awesome (sarcasm) CVT transmission. BOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!
But Wait……….
The 2.0-liter turbo comes exclusively with front-wheel drive ONLY.
The 2.5-liter comes standard with front-wheel drive, but all-wheel drive is an option.
UghhhhHH…..
So basically you need decide whether you want AWD with no Turbo or FWD with Turbo. You can’t have both! GREAT JOB NISSAN!
Again2.5-liter FWD = 188 hp / 180 lb-ft versus 2.0 AWD 248 hp /273 lb-ft
If we had a choice, we’d go for the FWD Turbo.
Additional Info:
The SV, SL and Platinum trims come standard with the latest version of the ProPilot Assist system.
Rear Automatic Braking, which detects stationary objects while you’re backing up and applies the brakes to help you avoid a collision.
Nissan stretched the car’s wheelbase by nearly 2 inches and its width by nearly an inch and cut the height by more than an inch, making the car appear lower than its predecessor.

This is Richard’s 2004 Nissan Maxima. He lives in Ponce, Puerto Rico. His 6thgen has come a long way and continues to look better and better! More progress and updates to come. Awesome work.
When I first got the car I hated it, it was basic and looked like an old mans car. When I started seeing other people with hooked up Maxima’s I wanted to do the same, but I wanted to do something different.
For the past two years, I saved up to modify my Maxima. But it wasn’t enough. I wanted something more, so I turned it into a VIP show car which is still in progress. People use tell me it a waste of time and money but I never listened to them. I always blocked all of the negative thoughts and continued turning my car into a VIP car. Never let someone or yourself destroy what you believe in! Always cherish the things in front of you and keep dreaming big. – Ryan Mahadeo

Bought the Maxima for $400. I started learning about them and reading up on them and found out the aftermarket support was decent. Not like Honda’s but it was supportive enough to be able to build it. Finding maxima.org led me in to reading on mods and how-to’s. That’s when I started finding parts and decided to build the car. Being in high school I did as much as I could do and built it exactly how I wanted. I ended up with what I have now and I’m very proud of it.
